Quantum of Solace Game thread.

Just bought the game at game stop. I Didn't know much about it at first but once I saw that it was enhanced for Direct X 10, 64bit and multi-core CPU's is was mine!
It's currently installing right now, so I will be posting screen shots in time as well as other tips/hints strategies and what not. Other players feel free to join in and help each other out.

This is the first Bond game I've played since "the world is not enough" I'm really looking forward to it.

Nice to see more talk about this game. It runs the COD engine and the demo looks awesome. I dl'ed the demo, but it was only about 20 min

Hopefully the game will be longer than 8 hours.

graphics not state of the art, but that does not matter as long as gameplay is good.

Yeah the game play is great! I'm loving it! but I agree the graphics could be a lil better but they are not to bad. over all graphically i would rate it 8/10, 10/10 on gamelplay! It's lots of fun!

Outside of that its looking really good to me. Might have to wait until the coffers fill up before i can go on a spending craze.

OS: Vista/XP
Processor: any 1.8Ghz Dual Core or better
Memory:1024MB 8GB HDD Space
Video card: On board not supported, Nvidia geforce 6600 or Radeon 9800 pro or better

I believe those are the minimum requirements, not sure about the recommended.

I installed it but didn't get a chance to play it before I had to erase the drive. What you said so far about gameplay almost has me convinced it is worth installing again...almost. XD

Nightfire (PC) did manage to suck about 6 years out of my life...

It was based on Gold Source engine though--the physics, weapon balancing, maps, etc. were perfect. My expectations are extremely high and I know it will fail me so, I just don't think I can take it right now...

I sound like an episode from a soap opera or something else involving an affair.

The graphics will always suffer when you have a game that has a strict deadline. Generally the games that are set to release with a movie suck, but I have the highest hopes for any bond series.

@JBunch, what settings are you at? I'm sure you have everything maxed out with your set up. Just curious.

yes everything maxed out at 1680x1050 I'm sure there will be patches or mods to make the graphics better, but tbh It's fun game and thats all I care about!

So i can't touch the game until i get my gaming rig fixed. Ahh it will make the game better then.

It's taking quite a long time to install... mostly videos, methinks.

The menus suck--especially trying to define keys. Half the time, I have to mouse over them to read the text because there is very poor contrast between the font color and the background. Additionally, half the keys don't make any sense to me like, what is "Take Down?" And why is there two keys that say "Jump" on it?

A frackin' Windows Live dialog popped up in the middle of trying to assign keys...

These menu backgrounds are so annoying. :|

Why do you need a Windows Live account to save game progress? This isn't the first game I seen that does that. It is extremely annoying.

You don't need it to play through single player but you can't save. Still, I think it's a pretty crappy game. I'm not having any fun at all. And why is there so much Casino Royale story in here?

I had to quit playing because Windows needed to update, install Nero, and make a DVD video. I assumed that when I restarted the game, I would be able to select the chapter I stopped at to finish the game off. I can't. No way in hell am I playing through all that rubbish again to see the end of it. I am glad I didn't pay for it. I haven't, and never will, purchase a game that requires Windows Live.

I feel sorry for my friend that did buy it.

It does run fine on my hardware. There were a few slip ups with the framerate but nothing major. The game looks like shit though. If you're looking for eye candy, look elsewhere.
