Corsair Ready with HX450W Modular PSU
Corsair has announced its newest PSU, the HX450W. This 450W PSU would be the company's entry-level offering with flat modular cabling. The unit measures 150mm x 86mm x 150mm, and features a quiet temperature-controlled 120mm fan. In many aspects this PSU could be seen as a modular version of the VX450W.
The PSU flaunts 80-plus efficiency badge with a company-rated efficiency level of above 85%. It features active PFC. The PSU guarantees continuous output of 450W under 50 °C, and an MTBF of 100,000 hours. The PSU is backed by Corsair's seven-year warranty. Corsair recommends this PSU for single graphics card setups. ![]() Source: Hexus.net |

That's awesome! I'm so going to get my work to use these instead of the shoddy Antec 380W PSUs we use.

above 85% efficiency + flat modular cables + Ultra-quiet + 7 years warranty + Corsair's quality = my next PSU
will it be enough for my oc'd e8500 with a 4850 and a few fans?

Its fine saying that, but you should always leave yourself headroom for upgrades - you cant play a years worth of upgrades in one minute haha, who knows, you may decide to go crossfire or buy an X2 card - in which case i doubt this would cut the mustard.

Great news. This looks like it's going to be a great seller not to mention incredible warranty!
I sort of wish Corsair went in the other direction making more higher wattage PSUs instead of going lower. There's a pretty big gap between the HX620W and the HX1000W that I wish they would fill. Maybe a HX850W or something? |

Realistically that PSU would be a 550W PSU according to other manufacturer's standards... lol. Corsair PSUs FTW! Love my VX450... quiet and cool unlike my 600W iGreen...

Wow that is awesome. I wonder how much it would go for. I never looked for a HTPC PSU. Suppose this would be the best way to go. Flat modular cables hmm...is that like Ultras Flex 3 stuff?

I went with a HX520 for my P-45 rig cuz of the modular cables. Corsair P/S wattage ratings are very conservative compared to others. I'd chose a 450W Corsair over a 600W antec any day! If you're curious, check this out. Power Supply calculator
