Help with OCZ RAM Experiment

Hi,

I had this idea and googled it, but no results showed. Basically, im wondering if you can mix & match RAM sticks. This what i have:

OCZ 1066MHz 2x2GB (In Mobo atm)
OCZ 800MHz 4x1GB (On side)

So i just tried it. I put the 1066MHz in and 2 sticks of the 800MHz, set the speeds to 800MHz in BIOS, then booted. It got to desktop fine, and CPUz loaded and showed 6GB. Internet worked fine. I darn't try and games though because i was, well, scared.

Is it safe to do this. It worked, but will it cause and long term damage?

Thanks

The ram will work but will only go as far as the lowest stick speed.

+1 on fastmix.

I personally run 2X512 Crucial ballistix(oragne spreaders) 667MHz along side some Ballistix Tracers(black spreaders and led's) I havent maxed out the OC, but in my instance all 4 sticks are running 1000MHz at the moment!
