OCZ Technology Introduces New Line of Fatal1ty Power Supplies

high reliability memory and components, today revealed the first power supply models under the Fatal1ty series, offering gamers stable and efficient power for their mainstream or high-end rigs. OCZ is dedicated to delivering premium power solutions, and the Fatal1ty series options are the first step to creating an exceptional gaming system for the unique power and cabling requirements of today’s gamer.

These high-performance power supplies were co-developed with the expertise of Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel, 12-time World champion, to meet the specific needs of fellow gamers. OCZ Fatal1ty Professional Series PSUs feature incredible performance to power the latest graphics cards and hard drives. To meet the needs of a wide range of gamers, OCZ’s Fatal1ty PSUs offer three configuration choices including a non-modular 400W, modular 550W, and a high-performance, +12V single-rail 700W edition.

“OCZ and Fatal1ty are excited to introduce a complete series of new power supplies designed specifically for the entire spectrum of gamers,” said Ryan Edwards, Director of Product Management for the OCZ Technology Group. “No matter what level of gamer you are, or what type of system configuration you are running, these new PSUs are designed to pair perfectly with the latest graphics cards and offer clean, stable power for both single and dual GPU setups. The 80+ design makes the PSUs green and more efficient, and premium high reliability, silent LED lit fans ensure that consumers can stay focused on their game.”

“Having a powerful and consistent power supply is important to make sure all of my components run how they were built to run,” said Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel. “I am really excited about working with OCZ and their PC Power & Cooling unit which is known to employ some of the best PSU engineers in the business.”

All the Fatal1ty gaming-grade power supplies have superior features such as an 80+ Certification for ultimate efficiency, highly reliable MTBF, and 120mm LED fans. All units feature glowing red LED lights to further personalize and add style to your gaming rig. The Fatal1ty Professional 550W Modular and 700W Single Rail PSU also boast an SLI-Certification to run the latest graphics cards. Fatal1ty power supply products are superior in make and are ideal upgrades for gamers who need a computer system able to take on hours of non-stop gaming.

umm . . . just curious, OCZ - but can you explain what expertise Fatal1ty has in regards to designing PSUs?

Now, if y'all were developing a game with him, that's one thing . . . but last I checked, it's not like he's an electrical engineering major . . .

Eh, sno.lcn's avatar makes this thread worthy. Fatal1ty branded stuff is just annoying IMO.

Eh stop wining over this Fatality sh#t. No fanboyism here because i don't care. At least the guy is making some decent money. Beats selling crack on the corner of the street.
And not every one knows who he is so to them it's Fatality against ModXStream.
What would you choose?
And apparently OCZ is making good money out of it because they would not team up with him if not.

See, I'd buy that as it's red and black, however, ignoring the Fatality BS I won't because it's freakin' OCZ and I'm massively disappointed by their products (apart from RAM).

I'm not saying they're all bad, just from my experience with my friend's was awful. It was really freaking loud and the amperage was pretty poor, plus it failed on several occasions, must have been a bad unit.

OCZ makes some nice products however this Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel is a huge shmuck. He really hasn't done anything for anyone bu he has all these companies making peripherals, and components with his "tag" on it. What ever happened to Vo0 products or other well represented gamers.

yea i dout there's much difference, though the single rail 12v is different from my 700watt gamextreme, and that little led that comes on when you flip the switch on the PSU is new also definitly deserves a new name

its not that 'HE' has all these companies, its more like companies USE his name on their products so they can charge MORE for a product that has features or minor tweaks that are either: A) Totally useless B) Totally pointless C) Totally look cool with black & red colour scheme (which i dig a lot sad to say) & really dont make any difference at all compared to the exact same 'regular' products on the shelf.

a Zalman VF-900 GPU cooler would be a good example - Zalman has 4 editions of this cooler -

1) A copper one
2) A copper one with blue LED
3) A Aluminium one (with/without LED??)
4) A Fata1ity one

& the only difference is the Fata1ity one is made of aluminium with a red LED instead of the blue (or no LED) & a tad higher fan RPM rate for a few more $

& i know this because i have that Fata1ity cooler on a old X1800XT - I didnt want it but the shop i went to sold it to me cheaper then the regular ones

what are the benefits of a single rail compared to my 4 ?, is it just more consistent/reliable power or something?

What the hell does Johnathan "Fatal1ty" do anyway, is he just some random gamer?
Ages ago people weher like nah get a split rail psu because it can supply the cpu and gpu separate, now i hear people are like nah get a massive one rail it will supply power more efficiently.

I dunno whats better i think there was a thread about it a while ago but it dosnt make a big difference as long as the split rails have all got equally high amperage, or as long as the single rail is high.
