Nice price. They'd have to pay me to use that mobo though.

Lol. The e8400 itself on egg is 160 USD. Then how could an extra mobo lower the price?

buy both sell the mobo and get a better one with the cash

Tell him to take the 30 bucks he saved vs Newegg & buy a CPU cooler. He will still be ahead of the game. Tell me, who here does not have a spare cooler laying around?

I'm probably the only one using an Intel cooler. I hate the design but even OC'd it works fine on my E7200.

I work for Fry's and the initial bundle was a 9550 with that board. But they found out last min that the board requires a bios update to work with that. Also, many of the ECS boards were stale, and they will require a bios update just for the 8400...

My Friend wanted to build one last weekend. I asked him to get the E8400 deal and that dumb woke up around 10 for BF sale

But we manged to get the Phenom 9750 sale on Saturday and it is one hell of a system for him (coming from crappy P4 2.4ghz). The Free ECS board OCed the cpu to 2.6ghz and machine idles at mere 65w. Amazing power improvement over even Brisbanes.

In Indiana, Indianapolis/Fishers, Fry's doesn't have this deal, but they had E7300 with similar mobo for $99.99 so I got that.

speaking of Fry's, I live in St. Louis and never heard of the store until I was out visiting colleges last year. I just got accepted to Rose-Hulman which is in Terre Haute, IN - does anyone know where the closest Fry's is?

so a wicked processor minus the poor stock cooler and a wicked motherboard to go with it! cant be bad. Drop that ECS in a regular desktop / a download rig and your set!
