AMD Licenses Rambus Technology

AMD will pay Rambus $75 million over five years to license Rambus' technology that will help boost the speeds at which computer chips communicate with one another. After that announcement, Rambus shares shot up 11%.

Rambus generates revenue by developing technologies such as those licensed by AMD, patenting them, and selling the rights to the technology to other companies.
