Sorry, I disagree on this. The price is too high for a that low performance. That should be selling for $200-$210. Maybe I am spoiled by having a chip that does 4.2 at 1.27v, but I have yet to find a D0 that wouldn't do 4.2Ghz at 1.31v or lower, so doing 4.0Ghz at 1.3v is under par in my book. Just my opinion.

Edit: Changed some wording, my apologies.

If it's below MSRP and is a guaranteed 4GHZ, it's definitely worth the money, imho, when it comes to 920/930s.

Yeah, but unless the seller is giving a money back guarantee (including the shipping) I think it's over priced. Just my opinion. Part of the issue is that I haven't had to pay MSRP for a 920 yet since I have a Microcenter near me, but since it is a used chip and you cannot be absolutely sure what the guy has used it for (sure he can say this or that) it should be 30% off of MSRP. Again, this is just my opinion. Value is in the eye of the beholder. I mean take a look at this, I have an EVGA GTX295 CoOp that I have offered to folks for $335 shipped, that's about $200 less than MSRP or about 45% off and people act as though it's overpriced, so my point is that what you see as a value I may not.

That being said, I apologize for "calling BS" in my original post. Should have just said "I disagree", so I will edit my original post.

Well, the microcenter makes the story entirely different. Hard to beat that price.

Why not get 3 x HD5870's for the same price? Don't they have better performance?

I know, just messing with you. I could care less either way. I want Nvidia to release theirs so that prices come down on current models. Competition is great.

Microcenter has the 920 for $180 and the 930 for $200, in store only though.

I've owned a dozen 920 chips. Half of them needed more than 1.31v for 4.2ghz. Actually, 4 of them needed more than 1.31v for 4.0ghz. This was especially true with newer batches, and most of the poor clocking chips came from MC. On average, there is more value to early batch 920's from my own personal experience, and considering that Newegg still sells them for $270, $240 for a guaranteed quality chip is more than reasonable, especially if the person you buy from isn't voltage happy.

Very true Paul, the earlier batches are good but the one I got off you doesn't seem to clock very well. It needs a whopping 1.19-1.200v for 4GHz

No doubt that the earlier chips do overclock better than the newer ones, I mean I have a B028 batch and have had the B018 batch also. However, I haven't seen anyone guarantee an overclock on a used chip, nor can you say for sure what that person did with that chip unless you know them personally. I am just saying that the I7 920's, unless it is a specific batch that is known to overclock well, then it should be going for $210 - $220 range. Just my opinion.

@ Chicken Patty - What does it take to get your chip to 4.2Ghz?
