System Specs

Worst Possible Problem!

yo i just took out my cpu to throw a new layer of thermal glue on it and i threw it back in and tried to boot but nothing happened!

then i relised that there was 2 broken pins on the corner of my cpu

What can i do to fix it anything?

If they are just bent, you can carefully try to bend them back.

Or use some plastic material like plastic glass or a library card to straighten them back.

How are they broken? Middle of the pin, end, back? Sometimes they can be soldiered if you are good at it, but most likely... the chip is a goner.

danggg cuz there broken right near the base two right next to eachother but i have the pins so i might be able to save the day.

worst case i get my new Phenom Sooner!

If the pins are completly broken off like you say then your SOL. If their just bent then you can just bend them back being extreamly careful as MRCL said.

At the base is good! If you aren't good with a soldering iron, take it to a jewler (where they make thier own stuff) and get a quote.

ya thats weird when i reapply i don't remove the CPU from the socket i just leave it in and apply it in the socket i am wondering to why you removed the CPU cuz you can even clean the old TIM off still in the socket

I have a solution for you.

Step one.

Take aluminum foil, roll it into a small, very small roll, as small as the pins that broke off.

Step Two

Place them in the socket holes of the motherboard where the broken pins are.

Step Three

To the best of your ability, place the cpu and try to align it with the foil in the socket.

GG. Did this with an old socket 478 Pentium 4.
