Blech! Reinstall time.

*Wait.... Looks like you have a modified bios. That is most likely the reason.

For some reason I thought your card was a 4870. I didn't think the 3xxx series had fan control. You had fan control with the previous drivers?

I don't have fan control with the 8.12 either. And my secondary 17" monitor has always reported as 1920x1080 for some reason with ATi drivers.

That doesn't sound right. Only the 4800 series is suppose to have the fan speed control thingy...

So I reinstalled 8.11 and all it showed was the temp not even the GPU activity. I dont know whats going on. So I just uninstalled it all and reinstalled 8.12. Not sure why or what has caused these weird changes. But my end result is no fan control. Looks like ill just stick to rivatuner.

Well i think 8.12 doesn't support it yet only 8.11 does. But that's kinda stupid because it's suppose to add features not drop features.

My 4850 goes over 100 degrees!

Speaking of fan controls... When I'm gaming now, my 4850 goes over 100 degrees after my upgrade to 8.12. When that happends, my fan goes to 100%. It used to be fine with 8.11, when I had the fan at 50% it never got that hot! Did the new drivers make my card work extra hard?

What's the maximum temperature for this card?

Thanks!

Also, I'm running stock clock speed and voltage.
