A good cooling solution for my x800xtpe
hi alll id just like to say i have a sapphire x800pro vivo softmoded to a x800xtpe . the cloks are 520/560 and i can over clock it to about 550/605 stable . i just dont like the temps on full load they can get to around 80 with the ati tool rungin for sumtime. atm i have some small thermal take ramsinks on the bak of the card and front . also i have 2 80mm case fans blowing onto the heat sinks. i was lookin at buying a arctic cooler 5 will that increase any oc or noticible temps??
my card idling is about 42 full load 80

Personally, I would reccomend the Zalman VF700-Cu. However, I have heard some people get worser results with it than with the stock cooler, but it was often a question of bad fit (fixed by remounting). The Arctic Silencer should do good too.

This is the Zalman:

OC level depends on several factors, not just cooling. However, if I re-phrase your question to which one will get you lower temps, I'd probably be leaning to the Zalman. W1zzard did a review of it here: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zalman/VF700-Cu

I have an x850pro softmodded to x850xtpe with the Zalman VF700cu. Stock speeds are 540/590. I oced it to 560/582 and temps are 30c normal and 54c with load. I would totally recommend the Zamlan for overclocking. i paid $40 for it at Fry's Electronics but you can get it for $30 online try newegg.com
