Newegg Open Box

I want to buy a open box item off of newegg.

If it arrives DOA, what kind of assurance do I have? If anyone has any experiences, let me know. Thanks.

All open box items from newegg have a 15 day return policy. If the open box item is defective or whatever you can send it back for a cash refund. You can't exchange the item for the same on due to the limited stock of the open box items.

I think you might just have to RMA it. Some open box deals are OEM for companies.

Of the last 3 I ordered 2 were like brand new. All accessories were included and they worked perfectly. The last one I ordered was missing one IDE cable and everything else was there. It also worked perfectly. Before that I got 2 in a row that were just the main board absolutely 0 accessories but the boards worked perfectly. Its a roll of the dice pretty much.

Return is cash only and only 15 days. I bought a dead X1800XL and they refunded promptly. Don't let them charge you the 15% restocking fee either in case it's dead. They tried on me, but I called them and got it dropped.

I got an HD4850 Open Box... it was JUST the card in an Anti-Static bag and bubblewrap with some peanuts in the box...
and it clocks AWESOMELY... and even better... ASUS agreed to warranty it for 3 years.
It will get to 720-780Mhz Core and 1,200Mhz Mem (2.4Ghz DDR). No hard Vmod... but pushing it to 780Mhz with the extended Voltage causes the VRMs to overheat despite good HSF contact... So it sits below 675Mhz 24/7.. just did it for a bench run.
