I believe the T series is the most current. This T7100 lasts almost 4 hours on battery...
Better to link the whole laptop. More information would help. Lots of things affect battery life.

They both have the same 2.4ghz clock speed, but the p8600 has 3mb of L2 compared with 2MB of L2 on the t8300. So I would assume the p8600 is better. The higher up t series I believe has higher clocks than any of the p series. But your looking at a mid range t compared to a high range p.

Mebbe
![]() The more relevant thing is the full package of the laptop Zack is looking for. Screen size, GPU, CPU, HDD, and battery type will all make a difference in how long it lasts. Looking at a single component just isn't going to make a huge difference in the overall efficiency of a laptop.

im going to get flamed for this.
but if you want long battery and effecinet get a mac. I got 6 hrs out of mine, my moms dell gets about 2.5hrs. and most of the hp's and other machines get the same unless you get a massive 12cell. Granted macs dont game well, but boot camp it and your fine.

depends what you want to use it for, macs are great for portability for media and work but any sort of gaming needs a proper windows lappy or notebook
gpu effects battery life loads, i think hard drive does a little too dunno if screen size effects battery life but past 17inch it starts to get less portable the P series after googling seems a little better

the difference between the 2 is the FSB. One runs 800 the 1066 and also different thermal designs, the 1066 chip is more efficient.
THe reason macs seem to have longer battery life is due to thier bios settings. You can make your PC based notebook last even longer by going in the bios and setting up profiles. FOr instance mac auto shuts down 1 core when unplugged, lowers screen brightness, throttles HD' speeds, and of course uses speed stepping, all of these are options on most dells/hps. You cant interface with a MAC bios because its locked.

sorry I'm anti-mac, that would be my last choice. About the only thing i like about them is the build quality.

Mac run the same processors, memory, and chipset if I am not mistaken. How could they be more efficent on power?
