Need laptop advice

Hey guys, I have been "away" for a while and I am way out of the loop. I need a laptop and have about 700 to spend. So far I have been looking at bestbuy etc.

I think the ASUS looks good. But I never liked Nvidia(I used to overclock a little) How do the cards stack up against each other?

+1 on that. I have a laptop with the core 2 duo, and for a lappy it's amazing what I can do with it. Also, I really suggest at least 2gb of ram minimum.

+1 to having at least 2gb or ram, I would suggest having at least 4gb for the future though

Mine uses almost 2gb 24/7 because of vistas caching, and everything works instantly, imagine games on top of that, or a antivirus full scan

my old acer aspire 5670 overheats like mad, it was so hot that it would literally burn my hand if I held it to the bottom of of the laptop

my friends old acer was so hot that when he closed the lid once, it overheated his monitor, and his monitor is completely fu#$^d, its grey and black in places

I don't know about the new ones, but make sure you read a lot of reviews

Not bad, the card should be decent for mid settings for last year's games. Here's some benchmarks for that 3650:

Get these instead: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....at150700050002

A little out of budget, but they do go on sale time to time...perhaps wait from president day sale.

The G50Vt-X1 is an outlet item, you could be able to pick one up at store for much cheaper.

One with 9600GT and 9800GS.... awesomeness..... I failed and was too late to recommend.

EDIT: Ok not faster than the G50 asus, but there are a couple negative things about it.

The G50 asus is really thick around the screen so im told its feels more like a 17 inch. Also Im not a fan of the 16:9 screen. Personal preference though, its a nice machine.
