What does ram speed affect

Well im deciding should I save some money and go with 667 or spend about 15$ more and get 800....

This is gonna be a budget gameing computer and i really need to know....

I don't imagine that there is that much of a price difference between 667 and 800...

I'd say just go with the 800, its more or less a minimum standard for gaming computers...

I'd say go with the 800 mhz ram. It's 15 bucks and then the ram will probably be able to overclock higher and if you don't overclock it'll at least be faster.

I realize its faster.. But other than benchamrks does it affect FPS??

Sure, if you're CPU need more bandwidth then you'll be delivering more data. Also, if you want to overclock it gives you more headroom.

Go 800mhz, good enough for gaming.

As for what does it affect, well the faster the RAM the faster the data gets processed my the CPU. As for OCing the RAM can effect the CPU(if the OC is ran in sync with CPU clock)

RAM is cheap now a days, you can even get a good 1066 kit for cheap.

System Specs

800MHz is a nice speed for todays standard. Especially high end gaming computers it's great. When I had 800MHz RAM back a year ago, I got my OCZ Platinum sticks to around 950MHz with 0.1V voltage bump and passed memtest.

same here with my value rams oc'ed upto 950MHz it gave an additional 150-200 pts on 3dmark06 cpu score
