Race driver grid problem

Ive been playing race driver grid in single player every map plays flawlesly until i get to the drift maps then i start getting driver stopped responding and recoverd messages it does always recover and i can play again but often causes the car to crash resulting in loosing drift points i dont think its hardware problem or driver problem as any driver results in the same and all my other games play without problems also. Is there known issues with the drift maps?? are there any fixes?

Wierd. The only thing I can think of barring any software problems would be the fact that in drifting it creates a lot of smoke which is a lot of particle effects for your system to be running. Try decreasing your CPU overclock just to see if it helps.

That is a weird error, looking at your specs your clocks are high on both CPU/RAM so maybe one isn't as stable as you think? I honestly don't know, all my GRID problems went away on upgrade to SP1 but you're running XP so..

No sorry i should have mentioned ive tried it stock also i dont always run at 3.6ghz i use stock somtimes to save power especially in single player mode multiplayer games can impact fps more especially on a full server thats when the over clock comes in handy. Ive even tried reinstalling the game with fresh patches etc nothing gets me any joy its just the drift maps no other maps at all ive gone through all the 1st stages fine not one problem gets to drift and it took me ages to get though it because of the problem ive now completed the 2nd set of stages with no problems and im now back to drift and the problem is back. Im really stumped??

*edit* i dont overclock the card also just everything else. GPU temps never break 72c thats the highest ive ever seen it.

are u using a nodvd crack ? I had similar problems when using a crack ,when I reverted back to the original EXE and used the dvd the problem went away.

if that's not your problem ,id just try a reinstall ,maybe some of the files have somehow got corrupted.

Neither did it mine. I downloaded GRID with crack an all to check out if its worth buying it (and I bought it). But I had no problems whatsoever with crashes..

Are you using rivatuner or ATT to either:
-OC the gpu
-tweak CCC settings
-alter registry settings
-etc
at all? Regardless if they are "enabled" now or not?

yeah it sometimes goes really buggy when you play games with overclocked graphics cards.

Nope i dont overclock the card ever even when i was tpu champ with 23995 3d marks lol i wish i did i would have broke 24k DOH!! i did use riva tuner at one point just to watch gpu temps but it never broke 72 under full load i dont have it installed now even playing armed assault for 3 hours it didnt get past 72c. theres just somthing about the drift maps that totally bugs the card or drivers out.

I did think about pushing the pci-e slot to 110 like alot do when overclocking but i cant see that making a difference as it happens when everythings stock speed too.

PEBCAC? J/K LOL!! What display drivers are you using? I had a horrible experience with the 8.10 drivers on my 3870x2 crossfire setup but now sittin pretty since 9.1 and GRID plays great, lost some frames but stable as hell!!
