I just got a Razer DeathAdder.

I was using an IntelliMouse 3.0 before, which MS calls 'the choice for gamers'. LMAO. I always liked MS mouse over any others, but Razer has my heart now. I just finished my first round of COD4 with this mouse and OMFG I pwnt with such ease and fluidity that it's silly. I take back what I said about a mouse not raising someone's K/D. A professional, accurate gaming mouse is worth the money and way better than a regular mouse. I'm convinced.

I agree. I loved my DeathAdder. But for some reason they keep on dying on me. I'm on my 3rd one. Probably use it to much.

Aw mann don't tell me that. Maybe your motherboard is destroying them out of spite?!

How often have they died?

Oh yes,...another convert! If the CPU is the "engine" then the mouse is the "suspension" of a PC!

Got one for Christmas of 07. Died in March, weird problem.

Then got another one from RMA July, and it died because of the cord ripped from the USB part, bad manufactoring.

I'm on my third one from August, and it is still standing strong. But don't worry.

I'd like to try one of these mice but I doubt it would be any different from my current mouse.

MX518 FTW.

BTW "Gaming" equipment is mostly bullshit and made for fat kids that need moaRRR buttonzZ f00R the Wow.

Let's look at it this way. The highest skill you can get is 100 (let's pretend), you would get +5 points from a mouse, 5 from a mousepad, 10 from good headphones. You could spend 400$ on gaming stuff (e.g. Headphones, mouse, mousepad) and your skill would only increase by 20 or 30 points. That's plain stupid. I had 2 gaming headphones and i regret that I bought them but it's my opinion.

Are you ok? The Revlution is an awesome gaming mouse, doesn't quiet have the highest DPI, but it's good enough, and far more comfortable than anything else out there.

And no a gaming mouse doesn't have to do with WoW or hotkeys. It has to do with FPS's and DPI to give you a faster reaction time.

And third how in the heck would you gain gaming skill from a set of headphones?

Have you not seen the SteelSeries WOW mouse? It's a joke to all mice. You don't need more than 2000 DPI unless you're on some crazy resolution and Revolution isn't a gaming mouse, you can use it as one (as every other mouse) but it's not designed for gaming.

Headphones? LOL, mate, there are so many different gaming headphones that are designed for "gaming" but imo they are shit. E.g. Steelseries 5Hv2, 4H e.t.c, Creative Fatal1ty, Psyko, Aero.

So because one mouse is made with a bunch of hotkeys that means all hotkeyed mice are WoW mice? To be able to play an FPS without using the keyboard, and having all functions bound to a mouse is quiet nice. And 2000DPI is a gaming mouse, which is whats I was talking about. That is pretty much the definition of a gaming mouse, high DPI. Trust me I got a bagillion places I can hotkey on my MX Rev and you say it isn't a gaming mouse.

Gaming headphones have a different criteria. How true it mimics surround sound. But thats far different from a mouse. Play with a trackball or something nasty and when someone is off to your side odds are they will be able to turn faster than you and kill you. Nice headphones you might and thats if you can really decide that it sounds like behind you, actually turn around and see someone. You could never blame loosing on headphones though, just way different things there.

There really isn't a ''gaming'' mouse, i have gamed with a crappy HP mouse and there wasn't much of a difference, unless you are going by the DPI's/LED's and maybe feel of the mouse in your hand. But even then that doesn't define it as really a gaming mouse.

Its mostly just advertising and what not.

See I kind of agree with you but when you're going from something as slow and bulky as the Intellimouse3 it's a totally different thing, yeah another 'regular' non-gaming mouse could also feel this smooth and fluid, but this mouse is powerful, accurate, and sexy, and I got it for $40.

The IM3.0 takes a lot more push from the wrist to move over the surface, but this one just takes a little flick and you're doing what you wanna do, and it follows me a lot better while I'm shooting moving targets than the IM3.0 did.
