Oblivion is amazing IMO. One of the games that I played the most (single player that is)
There is also the Gothic series (1,2,3, 3.5 (forsaken gods) Try mount and blades if you want. Pure medieval stuff with mounted combat, control of your lil army and stuff. Two Worlds (not really really good but w/e) If I think of more I shall updated this. |

Oblivion is great. If you really want to beat it completely, it could take 100 hours with the expansion pack and all the official mods. It supports first and third person but be warned, third person sucks.
You can buy chainmail and plate armor in Fable and it is more or less placed in medival times. It is 3rd person. The Witcher is mideval times and it is also 3rd person. The combat system is more suited for point-n-click gaming though (attacks are based on timing). You only have three choices of armor (poor, average, excellent) throughout the entire game though.

Oblivion is amazing. The staggering number of mods makes it timeless. If only they added some kind of multiplay, you do run out of quests around 150 hours, and inbetween there, a lot of them are similar.
or Warhammer.

You pretty much answered your own question there. If you want something midevil and haven't dabbled in Cyrodill (Oblivion), there's really not anything else to consider. Easily one of the best games of the decade, and offers more replay value than any other single player game I can think of. Go buy it, play for a bit, then check back for mods.

omg man.. you never played oblivion? It still has stunning graphics and will put any pc to it's knees if you try to max it.. the mod community for that game is insanely huge.. you can do so many things to it, it's ridiculous.. can even remake the entire battle system and replace it with a devil may cry style. check the oblivion official forums and TES nexus for more details on the mods.. that game can easily take you several hundred hours to beat. and It's tons of fun.. I tried two worlds.. The game is a hack.. people online ruined it.. they hacked it so bad that from the second you log on, people will be handing you hacked items non stop.. you will be a god in one day.. game is ruined.. It's sitting here gathering dusts.. and it should be in the fire...

I didn't play online (two worlds) because I used the "try first, buy next" method and didn't really like the game so I just played the single player a bit but never got to finish it. It gets boring and easy real fast.

EA is a plague upon the gaming world, they really just dampen the whole industry and make it all worse, they have gotten so bad I would put them as conspirators to destroy the gaming community. I remember when I use to like it when I saw the EA emblem, I knew it would be solid, now I cringe.

Oblivion is wonderful. The game play is awesome and if you're not happy with the graphics, there are leagues of guys who mod the game. I can grab some screenies from my install for you.
Edit: Uploading a few. They're captured at 1600x1200 4x AA 16x AF with QTP3r and some other packs I can link you to. Your PC should handle these settings like it's nothing. Here are the screens: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...2-12-40-28.jpg <--- I particularly like this one. http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...2-08-10-89.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...04-53-53-1.jpg

I own all of The Sims and The Sims 2. I decided to quit there because there isn't enough there to motivate me to play more (e.g. lack of rewards system). Apparently, The Sims 3 is supposed to fix that but, I doubt they made enough changes to bring me back.
Will Wright hasn't been involved since SimCity 3000; hence the suckage (a little bit in SimCity 4, a lot in SimCity Societies). The same is true of The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. Wright quit with the project after The Sims. Wright went to Spore and, as expected, it shows. It's not an eff'in clone like the rest of EA's products.

Oblivion is the best game ever
![]() as for other medieval style games...for a darker, more realistic side of medieval times play The Witcher. No happy elves and fairies here, nothing like disease, pestilence, and hookers oh and blood, lots of blood

Also a patch that unlocks the REAL content in the game. Difficult to get working with proper english translations though. Yay boobies!

Yes, so much so...without that patch oh dear god how pissed off I was waiting for each area to load. lol yes, and nothing like full frontal nudity a bound
Sadly, the game was a little too short for my liking, but has great replay value...I played it on easy first and now replaying on medium...and medium is hard!and yes, I'm serious...Oblivion is the best game ever...with a few outdoor/weather mods, new bodies, and higher resolution skin textures, ahh ^_^. With a few .ini tweaks I can run Oblivion on max resolution, 4xAA (Bloom...personally don't like HDR in Oblivion), high textures, and still get 40-50FPS outdoors. |

ah you have to change a few settings in the .ini to make that stop happening so often. Read this section
http://www.tweakguides.com/Oblivion_9.html Believe me, doing these tweaks gave me 10-15 more FPS |
