Asus returns Mobo, but its still a no go

So some of you may remember about my motherboard adventures last month and all that. I wound up RMAing the board and just got it back this past Thursday, the 5th. Turns out today when I went to install it, that it gave me the same trouble (looks like the replaced the bios chip though). So I was like, let me try some things. I went and put the CPU and the Memory in my backup PC (Gigabyte GA MA 790X) and those both worked. The HDD and the Video Card works as well but for some reason, in my Asus board, it does the same thing it did last month. Green LED lights up, turn it on, fans spin up no beep sound no anything. So Im anxiously awaiting to hear from Asus about if I have to RMA it again or what?

Ill keep this post updated.

Does that board have a LED display for POST codes? If so consult the manual. But sounds to me like it may be possible that RMA may be needed again. I reckon that if you call Asus thats what they will tell you.

Yeah I dont think it does, and if it did, nothing is blinking anyway. The Manual doesnt have anything listed for post codes as well. I called and left a message as the RMA department up in Indiana is closed on the weekends and I also emailed them. I hope to hear from them by Tuesday.

If you got the board within the last year, send it back to the retailer. They will give you a spanking new board and ship your fubar one back to asus.

it says he got the board from erocker, lol. somehow i dont think he will accept return.

but jokes aside, retailers only give one 30 days for the return, anything over that it goes to manufacturer unless extended warranty was purchased from a place like newegg.

Um.. where does he say that? It is true though, but it's not like I sent him a dead board. The transaction between he and I was a while ago.

Then US etailers suck : in the UK if something goes duff within a year you can send it back to the etailer and they will send you a new board and send the duffer packing back to the manufacturer.

You could make it the thread title! "Erocker's Cursed Equipment for Sale! "

When it goes in for RMA, break your board "proper" Then Asus will have to send you a different board entirely.

I never bought the board from a retailer/etailer. It was given to me by a company for doing a little work for them. WarEagle, you should just raise hell with Asus for wasting your time and demand satisfaction.

If I were sent back a board that ended up having the same problem, I would insert a "h" into the word sit, then send it back.

Damn right!! I know i would be upset if i sent board for RMA and got a non-functioning replacement. May be try to push for that Asus M4A70-T deluxe you want. Sometimes companies will go beyond what is required of them to straighten things out.

Nope, just take some pincers and "snip" a leg on that metal thing (forget its name) near the SB. Job done, dead board and its very hard to tell whats been done without a eyeglass handy
