Shamwow your computer...?

Good day to all!

I have shamefully purchased a Shamwow set to discover that it is actually a Sham-tastic product. Yes, you heard me, it cleans like a mofo. I freaken cleaned my whole kitchen after investing $20 dollars on this product.

Now, I have one mystery to figure out: will the Shamwow clean my 56 inch DLP screen that I use for gaming? I can hear your reactions from here -> my TV has a gaming mode setting, and it has a good native resolution without the shadowing effect in first person shooters. Forget 24 in LCD's, this setup would blow your mind. Moving along...

I can always use a microfiber product but it would be nice to know if my Sham-shit can take care of this. Perhaps even 100% cotton cloths might work with water? Informative posts only please! Jokes are always appreciated.

I my self would not try it just in case there some chemicals or some thing in the cloth or sharp fibers.

Best way is with a smooth cotton cloth with isopropyl ( Rubbing Alcohol 70% or higher best 90% ).

And for how much that would cost\last it's not worth trying any thing else.

its fine, rubbing alch is NOT GOOD, its got oils in it, isopropyl fine.

best thing i have found for cleaning lcd's and tv's and windows and everthing under the sun "glass plus" it contains NO amonia and no other harsh chimicals that can damnage the screen surface(amonia can strip some screens of their anti glare coat given time)

and the shamwow and some glassplus would work fine

There's nothing wrong it it i've used it for years without issue. Dunno were your getting yours from but this is just water 30% and alcohol 70%..

Nooooo I disagree. No alcohol on plastic products.

I would suggest getting special disposable cloths made by Novus and use the Novus cleaner if you want it to be static-free. It's the safest way to go. I use that method on my 52" Samsung LCD.

Although the Sham Wow is basically a Rayon Microfiber and won't scratch the screen it'll also absorb the cleaner

it's a ShamWow right...it'll suck it up.

The Novus cloths are specifically designed for cleaning and polishing acrylic.

Just an FYI, I use isopropyl alcohol on anything I clean that is metal. Reason why not on plastic: solvent = bad. Will disolve that plastic (just a little!) but good this it evaporates fast to cause almost no damage, but used alot, it will take layers off things. (a bad thing)

DO NOT USE THAT ON YOUR TV OR YOUR CAR. It will scratch it all up. TRUST ME. Read up on it! Car buff's will tell you that it will scratch the paint, it WILL also scratch your TV. Ammonia free cleaner (eye glass lens cleaner) and microfiber towels are best.

many alcohol's marked "rubbing" have at least small amounts of oils such as caster oil in them, ones marked isopropal(sp) are pure alch+water unless scented/colored.

many people will tell you not to use rubbing to clean cpu's because it can leave resedu on your chip, in the open die days this could effect the perf of thermal pads and compounds, not drastickly but it can.

best to not use unspecifyed alch on plastic, ethol can melt some plastics, and can remove anti-glare coats from some screens(crt and lsd)
