Please help me with choosing either ATI 4850 512mb or Nvidia GTS 250 512mb

I want to upgrade my geforce 8800GS 384mb to either ati 4850 512mb or gts 250 512mb.

i cant afford the 1GB version of both cards as they are way more expensive in here where i live.

so which one is better?

I couldnt find any review for GTS 250 512mb version. the gts 250 1gb version seems to be faster than 4850 in most bechmarks but i dont know about the 512mb version.

what do u think? which card is better buy???

ati 4850 has 800 shader ps , does it mean it will cope better with future shader intensive games than gt2 250 or not??

Thanks.

First off, welcome to these neck of the woods (sorry if i get that wrong)

Now, a 4850's 800 shaders IMO are superb for decreasing fps loss with anti aliasing.

Just because it has 800 shaders does not mean it will cope better compared to the 9800 gtx+/gts 250. Both cards are made with different architectures; they run at about the same performance level, but for higher resolutions I say go with gts 250
For lower resolutions, go with the 4850.

If you want more bang for the buck, then you can either look around for a gts 250/ 9800 gtx deal or a 4850. I'd go with the 4850 (cheap but powerful for the money)

What size/resolution monitor do you use?

hey matt, nice of you to post this topic twice, btw just to give a headsup, im not sure if this was accidental or on purpose, but posting topics twice are a big no no on these forums.
