Should i buy a 295 now or wait for something new?

Just thinking

Ok i sold the 4870X2... In my country a 295 will cost me 1.375 times the price of a 285, so what the obvious decision?

Ok i bought a EVGA295 with that sexy ass hell backplate

Great card, which rig? Why? Looking at your system specs you certainly don't need it though! Nice builds!

Using 1680x1050 I don't find games that bog down my 260, so I see the 295 as overkill right now unless you're going higher resolution. PLus with the single PCB 295's coming out, they might be worth waiting for, if not to just snag an older 2PCB version for cheaper, or whatever the "next fastest" card is by then.

buy it.

You COULD always wait for something else to come out sure, but once you do that, then something else comes out after that and something after that and after that ect.

IF your considering getting a 295, then go for it. the new gtx series are very nice. I got 2 x gtx285's and i score P25k.

Very happy with my cards

The single PCB design in my opion is going to fail.

The way the current is it disputes the heat on the top pcb and the other core on the bottom. They will have to use the same cooler do by far more work to keep the chip(s) cool. Bad idea i think.

like i said. Happy with my GTX's.

Also if your considering "upgrading" to a 295, grab a 285 on dell's site and use the code and get it for $265 + ship.

Pretty much same in aus, no point at all in paying 350-400+ AUD for a 24inch compared to 200-300AUD for a 22inch for 2 inches extra lol.

no such thing as overkill and the 295 makes me feel funny in my pants and gets me dates with women. Plus I get great frames in Crysis!

I watch Blu-ray movies through my computer (GTX 295) on my 40" and it looks awesome
Haven't played any games through it yet as I need to get a wireless keyboard and mouse.

you have a 4870X2... IMO not worth the trouble...

But then again, if you can sell it for a good price, and dont mind spending the extra cash, then go for it.

Every time a card is released, the engineers start working on something new.
