+1 on the MX-518. I've used it for a few years now and I've loved it. I'd definately recommend it for FPS gaming. Matter of fact, I'm really bad at FPSs on other people's computers because I don't have my MX-518. Quality stuff.

I've used Logitech mice for years (MX510, MX518, G5, G9) and now use a Razer Deathadder. Go to your local computer shop and try out the MX518, Deathadder, and G5 and see which you like better. It's really all about how they fit in your hand. Those are my recommendations.

I've used the Logitech G9 on my friend's dad's computer and that has great responsiveness. It's a grea mouse if you're willing to put out the money.

Get a G5, you won't regret it! Also you should get a decent mouse mat if you dont have one, they really help. Havent tried the new G9 but it doesnt looks as comfortable, dunno though really. I have tried a few Razer mice but just didnt find them comfy at all, obviously this is personal preference though. Try a few mice out in a shop or something, see which one feels best.
If you like the G5 you can get it for less than £30 if you wait for deals. Scan.co.uk usually have good offers on it, if you looks at their front page right now it's £32 and you can get free delivery if you register with AVForums or hexus forums.

You also want a comfortable mouse. I have wide palms and average sized fingers, so I always try to find wide mouses as they are more comfortable. If your mouse is uncomfortable, it's not so good.

The razer deathadder is the best mouse I've ever used and owned. Nothing can beat it sadly. Everything else just cry's in it's own corner of shame.

G5 is awesome. I've owned 2. If you can spend a little more a sidewinder is good too.

Personally, I'd go with the Deathadder. It fits your hand a lot more comfortable and natural than Logitech Mice. Try it out at your local electronics store before deciding, thats what I did. I went with the DA and never regretted it.
