System Specs

y wont my rig overclock????

i have an intel core2duo e4400 processor running on intel dg965ry motherboard...
i got 2 gb ram on dual channel and an HD 3850...
i have the latest bios on my motherboard...
and as my board doesnt support form the bios i'm using a software setfsb for overclocking it....and the problem is that it wont go over 235 mhz fsb(200 default) the system hangs and restarts...its rock stable at around 228mhz fsb coz i ran 3dmark and some dx 10 games...
the full load temperature without overclocking is 60C and with overclocking(@230 fsb) is 65C...so temperature is not an issue i guess....the problem is with my board i guess...right??

I would say that those temps are too high for a start. 60c is generally considered the max for 65nm CPUs. Also 965 chipset isn't the best for overclocking. I'd save up for a cheap p35 board and better cooling.

What he said. If the board doesnt support it in the bios, chances are its not a good board to try and oc with. Also, not to mention that software OCing isnt a great alternative. Id go with what oli said.
