Firefox 3.08 freezes for 2-4 seconds when downloading pictures?

Don't know wtf happened, but my firefox seems to be lagging every time I click on a download link or try to download simple pictures.

I did the same thing on IE, but it's running smoothly. Anyone else have the pausing issues on Firefox?

Basically, when I download a picture, I see "not responding" on the top left corner of the browser for about 2 seconds and they it becomes normal again. WTF?

I have had this issue with firefox for years

See if creating a new profile helps.

Run "firefox -profilemanager" with all Firefox windows closed.
