My PC Randomly Shut's Down On Windows XP Proffesional When Playing Games For 20+ Mins

My PC randomly shuts down on Windows XP Proffesional when playing games for more than 20+ minutes, But when I tried installing Windows XP Home Edition the games work perfectly for over hours... Why is this? Im using my original Windows XP Proffesional CD and serial key, and I'm running games like Crysis and G.R.I.D on high settings (not ultra). And all temps are around 40-50 degrees load, what is causing my PC to randomly shut down?

Right click my computer> manage>system tools> event viewer>system

See if any glaring errors are there.

its always the same, with this kind of thing.

1. CPU overheating, turning itself off to save melting into a puddle.

2. PSU failing, shutting down cause the PC doesnt work with no power.

XP pro and XP home are the same. its only changes to some default settings (none of which can cause this) and a few extra programs tacked on (again, none of which can cause this)

With your hardware, i'd be looking at the overheating side of things, as opposed to the PSU.

I thought about power supply, but didnt understand why it happened on pro and not home

there simply is no reason for it.

For all i know, there was some kind of fan control software involved that wasnt installed the second time around, thus preventing the overheat.

I did install quite a lot of crap on the first installation, and second time i just installed drivers and games and see if it still did the same problem... I think some software was conflicting with another or something which probably didnt make the fan speed up when it needed to thus making it overheat.
