System Specs

7 GHz achieved with a Phenom II

Don't think this has been posted before ..., has it?

WOW: a ~450 MHz increase over previous record.

Here's a link to the 5 top OCs: http://valid.canardpc.com/records.php

And here's the WR with a Phenom II:

There is a thread on a Pii 955 at 7.2GHz floating around here too. Pretty impressive chips.

Let me get this straight: there have been 2 supposed WR with PII on the CPUID Hall of Fame's page that were pulled because they were fakes?

Something's not right with this one: 250.01*28.5 is 7125.285 and that's not what's in the pic. In order to achieve the OC's value, you would need 250.1 bus speed: NOT 250.01.

Photo editing programs could be used too. Spend enough time working with a photo editing app, people can get very good at making things seem real.

Though the numbers don't add up, this seems to be real because i just went to http://valid.canardpc.com/ and placed the number of the validation and, sure enough, it took me to the page of the screenie on OP.

In that case, they must have hacked the site as well, no? I don't see another way for a fake validation to end up there, and that means that this one can also be a fake, especially if you consider that the numbers don't add up.

Modifyed CPUZ basically.

All the checksumming is done in the software, so all someone needs to do it modify it so it checks out as positive and bam.

Now i'm confused about the validity of this: just checked the 2nd place which we all know it's real because it's from Team Finland (SF3D, macci & Sampsa) and it too didn't add up: 225.96*29.5= 6665.82 and that's also not what's in their validation (6665.69)

There will always be slight fluctuations in that due to diffrent board designes/effiecencies, as well as the quality of copper/PCB

Though i can't verify either way, this seems to be fake because it was posted by someone that has posted faked validations before and thus has lost credibility.

I tracked down XS' post regarding this (it contains the 2 faked WRs cdawall mentioned):
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=223418

If you check page 2, you'll see what i mean.

all 4 cores will not lock at that frequency! They will fluctuate and drop all the time
it just depends on the time he validated it!

Thanks dude.

This is the false WR that i mentioned in the other topic.

I didn't continue this topic because it wouldn't make sense: after all, the 7 GHz mark has not (yet) been achieved.

I think this one is illegitimate unfortunately. I've read that one of the screen shots is using an impossible multi.

Hope it's real though, it would be impressive.

Thats from another thread. As said PII's can't go over a multi of 31.5. So people were setting new WR's with multi's higher than that. This one as you can see has a FSB of 250 + 28.5 multi to get over 7ghz.
