Lol look at this both those games still sell for a average of 50 bucks...so if you wanted both, you can just get this graphic card for the hell of it

That is a pretty sick deal especially cause both those games are awesome and the card is not bad either

It maybe DDR2 but it is 1GB so it should benefit users with large screens more.

lmfao, were it not for the games that deal would be one hell of a rip off. the performance of the newer 9600GSO's with 48 SPU's suck the donker compared to their previous 192-bit 96 SPU version. for $100 you can get the HD 4770 which like offers 2.2x the performance of that card lol. i'm amazed to see reviews on that product from people that purchased it like 2 days ago lmao

the one listed is 96Streams according to this, or am I reading it wrong?

it doesn't specify SPU's, but that card is the last on on XFX's list, and the 9600GSO's with 128-bit memory bus's were the later version that had 48SPU's. the 384mb and 768mb are the ones that have 192-bit memory bus with 96 SPU's.

yeah I have 5 or 6 of the 768's crunching but the one listed is not one of the new fatality models that has 48.

Second tab over in the link show 96.

There will be very few situations where increasing the memory size will make up for the completely shitty memory bandwidth. Even users with extremely large screens will likely see little benefit from the 1GB of graphics memory.

It is just like the old days where they would put 256MB or even 512MB on a FX5200...

Actually, the ones with 48SPs had a 256-bit bus. ASUS also made a 9600GSO with 128-bit bus and GDDR2 with 96SPs. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121255

ah, didn't know that, i never understood why they went 256-bit/512mb/48SPU route when the 192-bit/384mb/96SPU was perfect combination, especially when they made the change and the card was pretty much down in sales.

It is because the G94 core used in the 48SP versions was much cheaper to produce and they hoped the higher memory bandwidth would make up for the lack of shaders.

Seriously when you look at it like this your getting two games and a graphics card for a average of 36 dollars a piece. I haven't seen cod4 or cod5 for that cheap.
