New video card Vs. New ram

I'm thinking about buying a new video card, but I remembered that my ram is bottlenecking my system (cranked my core up to 1.6volts its a prescott O.O yes i know dumb) and i couldnt hit above 4.1 and even that wasnt stable... but im running a x700pro with some resistors & shit fallen off the core. SO I odnt know what to do. Any suggestions?

I would get some ram and really overclock the crap out of it!!! Then through some good air cooling on that X700 and overclock it.. That should hold you out long enough and later on get a decent vid card.

People like me use a powerful system for video encoding, photoshop, the like... instead of games all the time like most people here

My x700pro is half-past dead, resistors & shit fell off the main core, because of q-tips catching on and waterblocks hitting it, and now, at stock clocks, atitool, when running stock clocks, the whole scan thing is yellow.

If your video card is falling apart, obviously you should forget ram for the time being. What good can ram do when you can't even display a picture? If crap is falling off, it is not long for this world.

trash the x700 as it' sounds quite dead and go for an x850xt or better (or a gto2 with red pcb modded to x850xt) that would be a much more powerful solution at a decent price.

afew cards to consider best price vs performance is definetly the x850xt for 200$, though the x1800xl has 1.4ns memory which can easily hit 1400+MHZ.

is it the same lengthwise? BEcause the way I have my watercooling cut... well just look at my thread in the project logs, you'll get what im saying...

Whats the x1800xl's average fps in bf2? Why I am asking this is because the default core is 500Mhz, I was able to get my x700pro up to that!!!

With the Sapphire X850XT now at the same price as the X800GTO2, there isnt much need to buy the GTO2 now, just get the real X850XT.
