4770 or 4830???
Hello all of TPU!
I'm going to help a friend purchase a couple of PC parts tomorrow and this question really got us stuck. Which card is better as in raw performance, don't worry about power consumption, price etc. Just speaking raw performance.. WHO IS KING??? THANKS IN ADVANCED

I think the HD 4770 is better due to the GDDR5 memory, especially with overclocking.

a lot of people are saying the 4770 can match 4850 speeds when OC'd, and they work better in crossfire than 4830s.
since you got a P5Q, i say two 4770's!

I find it hard to believe that the 4770 is so close and even sometimes beats 4850. The price difference is huge, though it maybe because of the interface but 4770 costs around 150 AUD while 4850 costs at 210+ AUD.
This sounds too good to be true ! But thanks for helping me determine, my friend is moving from 9500gt 512mb to a 4770 512mb hopefully his jaw drops at the improvement.

I have 2 HD4850s and 2 HD4770s. I have ran them single and in Xfire. HD4770 is better. Cooler, more power efficient, better AA in gaming, better newer next generation GPU, much more OC potential. Better. I know this from experience. |
