Red Faction: Guerrilla

Anyone else getting really amped for this? I personally found the original game to be one of the most fun multiplayer shooters for its time, up there with Golden Eye and Halo. I just loved tunneling, seems it's not in this game either, but plenty of building to annihilate, the demo is a ton of fun.

So if you are getting as anxious as me, lets here it!

So this is more geared towards the first Red Faction and not just another totally different game like RF2 was?

Feels more like RF did, except it's like a over the shoulder 3rd person (I hope they allow some camera moving distance it's too close for my tastes). I hated RF:2, blah blah geomod, but then you can't tunnel, that was crap. I just hope the multiplayer is amazing, the gun diversity in RF was amazing and in the demo there are already some interesting weapons.

I don't think this will be coming out for PC, I haven't looked a ton, but I'm betting just console, either way it's gonna be fun. I do wish it was first person, or distant 3rd, I can't take games that put me this close, the character blocks too much view. But it does give you a nice view when some poor sap is hiding behind the wall and you give a nice 1 (wall gone) 2 (man flying through air bloodied).

I don't think those have been released yet as it's about 2 months until RF:G releases on computer.

I've seen more ads for RF:G than any other game in recent memory. It is just about as hyped as Assassin's Creed was.

Have the 360 demo, and the physics are definitely amazing, i loved crashing thorough the buildings and what not. Seems like a good game.

Thanks all for replies..

The hype on TV has me interested but I must admit I had not realised the PC version was not yet available...

Guess I'll wait and watch...

I just finished the PC release of the game and I have to say it is much better than I expected. It really takes more after Red Faction than Red Faction II which, IMO, is a great thing. I got about 20 hours of it on Casual difficulty and almost 100% completion. It reminds me of Hard Truck: Apocalyspe in many ways (especially environment, vehicles, and overall feel of the game). I really only have two bad things to say about it:

1) Tank steering sucks. It is nearly impossible to drive one direction not forward and shoot because the base always wants to point the rear or front of the tank whereever you are aimming. Take note of which side is the front and which side is the rear when you enter it or else you'll be in for some very long travels.

2) There was one crash to desktop. Not sure why but the game constantly autosaves so it is no biggy.

A minor problem is control functions aren't grouped so it is somewhat confusing to redefine keys and tell which will conflict and which won't.

Other than those things, I'd say it is a great game. Oh, and you really got to replay Red Faction and Red Faction II to understand what is going on in Red Faction Guerrilla. I've played both but I've forgotten most of it so a lot of the plot references don't make much sense.

Oh, and Alec Mason sounds too close to Alex Mercer of Prototype...it bugged me.

wait, 3rd person? That sucks.

The first game was kinda fun though, we'll see about this. .)

Is there a demo available for pc?

Edit: Just from google it appears you have to pre-order just to access the demo...that blows.

I'm playing this now have about 2 and a half hours on it so far, it's pretty fun. I had completely forgot about it until about 4 hours ago when my friend reminded me that I had bought it previously

I'll be picking this up soon since it's now out for PC, glad to hear others have enjoyed it, a few co-workers love the game. I am still bummed you can't tunnel through rock, but ho well.
