ATI Catalyst 9.5 is Now Official, Release Notes too

ATI has finally updated its web page to include the official WHQL version of ATI Catalyst 9.5, four days after we first informed you that the driver is ready and provided you with download links. The driver packs uploaded on the AMD servers should be exactly the same as the once we have uploaded on our page last week. Below the text separator are the final release notes and everything you need to know about the 9.5 release. This time I'll link you to AMD GAME! for downloads, but remember our links from the previous post here are still operational and can do the work.

DOWNLOAD: ATI Catalyst 9.5 WHQL for Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit/64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit/64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit/64-bit

Release notes:

Performance improvements:
  • Unigine Tropics DX9 – performance gains of up to 11% for single GPU and ATI CrossFireX configurations with anti-aliasing enabled.
  • Company of Heroes – performance gains of up to 10% for both single GPU and ATI CrossFireX configurations.
  • BattleForge – performance gains of up to 10% for ATI CrossFireX configurations.

New Features:
  • AMD has delivered a single unified graphics driver that has received WHQL certification for both Windows 7 and Windows Vista
  • ATI Catalyst 9.5 – Unified Microsoft WHQL certified graphics driver for Windows 7 and Windows Vista
Meeting Microsoft’s WHQL certification requirements in the ATI Catalyst 9.5 driver for Windows 7 clearly demonstrates AMD’s focus and determination to deliver an extremely stable and robust Windows 7 experience on AMD’s ATI Radeon Graphics accelerators
  • ATI Catalyst 9.5 – Unified Microsoft WHQL certified graphics driver for Windows 7 and Windows Vista
Delivers full WDDM 1.1 WHQL certified support under Windows 7 on the ATI Radeon HD 4000 Series, ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series, and ATI Radeon HD 2000 Series of products

ATI Stream:
  • ATI Video encoder update
  • ATI Catalyst 9.5 resolves a number of issues previously seen in the ATI Video Converter and is supported under Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows Vista 64-bit
  • Using ATI Stream technology, owners of ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series and ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series of graphics cards can take advantage of this video conversion tool (found in ATI Catalyst Control Center Basic View) to achieve substantial performance improvements when transcoding video files

The URL shows 9.5 for the release notes for me, but still displays the 9.4 notes.

And if they have actually gotten AVIVO working for Vista X64 I won't have to firebomb their offices and poison their pets.

Is this the same 9.5 that was leaked out a few days ago?

I installed the leaked version that was out on the 15th. Works great.

I downloaded ATI's officially posted version and compared it to the leaked one - they're identical.

I just ordered a new HIS 4890 Sunday night and I'm still running 8.12 drivers (still work well with my current 4870) ....but I guess I should get up to speed with the 9.5 drivers for the new card......

*drool* I'll have to get my rig back together and try it out. I've been waiting for this for some time.

Hmmm ... looks like I may as well skip this driver iteration. 9.4s work fine for me and from the release notes there does not seem any improvements to what I do.

Edit : Nevermind, I forgot that the 2D/3D clock problem is fixed in 9.5 for the x2s. Time to get it.
