Do video games aggrivate you?
Do you get mad when playing video games? For example do you bang your desk/throw stuff/yell when you get killed?

I don't throw things or hit stuff, but I do get mad. Like I was playing Tf2 and I obviously back stabbed a guy but it counted as a front stab, then a soldier blew me up. I got mad.

Sometimes, not very often. Usually a few minutes afterwards, I'm using Artmoney or a trainer. Games shouldn't be frustrating.

I killed a PS2 Gamepad after the fourth attempt to win a seven-lap-race in NFSUG. Never touched that game again since.
God of War series had me abusing my controller and swearing so bad that my dad knew exactly what game I was playing, but it is too satisfieing when you succeed. Interestingly no PC game had me ever going Hulk so bad that I wanted to smash things. I get more angry with the system.

Sometimes in games where you lose because the CPU is a CPU (Perfect timing for example). I love Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, but I get really mad sometimes because the CPU is so perfect, blocking almost all my attacks, doing reversals all the time. But with most other games I don't get mad, after all I play to stress out after a day at school.

Well I am only like a year or two older than you I think. I started to mellow out by the time I was 17. I still remember my last anger session. Was playing fight night round 3 and I lost. I threw my 360 controller at the wall. I thought to myself "I really need to control my anger" lol. That was the last major time. Now if I get mad ill just turn the game off and take a break. Takes me a lot longer to finish games though
Been working on Bioshock for about 3 months, almost got it done.

As a recently new gamer, I don't get mad. I enjoy working through problems to the end.
I have become discouraged with Call of Duty world at war. I have gotten stuck with the russian/german sniper scenario.....Tried many times and have finally got burned out on it. Don't you younger more skillful guys give me too hard a time, OK ![]() It's probably easy. |

it's all about confidence... when I was a young gamer I had none I was angry, frustrated, unskilled and afraid. confidence is like a blanket for all of that how do you get confidence? by honing your skills. now I can do things I never thought I could do like achieve objectives single handedly and leave my enemies in the dust.

The first game that every got me mad was Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed in Factory Driver mode. There was two courses that really got me going. They're both timed, have civilian cars, and you can't have any damage on the car. My problem on both was always running into an AI civilian car. I probably retried the damn thing 10 times before I finally got in both cases. There's also this one course where you have to do a 360 inside of a small cone area. That one also annoyed me. Needless to say, throughout that hole mess, there was a causality: I broke the flip-down stand off the Compaq keyboard I was using at the time. Ever since, I never have those flips down so they can't break.
I don't remember the other game that really annoyed me but it was more the mouse that pissed me off than the game (it might have actually been programming). I had problems with that mouse (Microsoft Intellipoint) since about a month after I bought it. When I left click with it, sometimes it wouldn't click at all, sometimes it would select, and sometimes it would double click. In any case, I smashed that thing on my desk so hard it exploded (the bottom snapped off and the buttons/wheel became unseated). I got my MX518 to replace it and haven't abused a mouse since. ![]() Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust is the game in most recent memory to piss me off. You have to kill three security guards and then three more that are even harder. After trying about ten times, I always got killed on the second group. I broke out Artmoney to stop the misery. I then got frustated by another area where it was unclear what I was supposed to do. It took me an 30-60 minutes to figure out but I finally got that. Then they last time I got frustrated was against the end guy because of the time limits involved (not so easy to fix with a memory editor). Escape got hit pretty hard a few times during that 6 on 1 battle but nothing broke.
