the press release doesnt mention how the red stripes make it go faster!

the built in OC feature is kinda nice. radeon 4850 is also pretty snazzy for a laptop.

with e-sata and a numpad, this really is a high powered gaming machine.

You're the first person I've seen that doesn't care about the stripes more than Jesus.

You have seen how fast they are, yes?

ts the big deal with red accents? They aren't stripes as they are only on the lip of the case and around the keyboard, anyone who has looked at the Gateway gaming laptops has seen the samething but Orange, I personally think it looks nice and should be pretty powerful for a laptop, wonder what the price looks like though.

Yes cooling is not laptops strongest point if manufacturers could find a better way we may actually see lappys as desktop replacements in the future.

Because they are probably aiming to make a laptop that people will buy, a 4870x2 laptop is out of most peoples price range.

I don't know if that will ever happen, the only reason I could see it happening is laptops being able to actually have the hardware upgraded.

Nice book. Actually not a half bad gaming setup. I'm sure with a nice dual core cpu and the 4850 it'll run 1500+ which is a bit much. Personally if I'm going to get a gaming setup I'm going all out with the best gpu and toughest cpu combo.

EDIT: I just found my next gaming laptop:

http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/products/...p?productid=19

freakin i7 with a GTX280m! $2500 is actually very good! Here's where to buy:

Did you try different drivers? A 4850 should be able to handle 1680x1050 pretty well, maybe not maxed, but close. It does have all 800 SP's, it is just downclocked (550/750) from the desktop 4850 (625/993).

If different drivers don't work, try clocking the memory up. I bet it will make a significant difference.
