Leave it to dry,it should be fine.You could also wash it with distilled water,it will rinse off the sugar.

Keyboards are easy to clean. Just take it to the bathtub and run water into it for about 5 minutes to disolve any of the dried coffee. Let it dry for a few days to make sure there is no moisture left in it before you plug it back in.

I do it all the time.

This is going to be disgusting but my cat once threw up (years ago) on my keyboard while it was off. My dad stripped it down, cleaned it and left it to dry.

Seriously, just make sure that if it is a wireless kb to remove the batteries first.
Electronics and water do fine together as long as there is no power. Water does not hurt circuit boards or chips at all.

If you wash something that has capacitors in it, make sure they are discharged first also.

Yeah as long as it does not remain damp so it can rust or short.

You can actually run electronics submerged in pure H20.

It is the minerals found in "normal" water which conducts the electricity

search for it in a chemistry store 1 Gallon for about about ten bucks
submerged the board for few minutes, and let it to dry for couple days

it SHOULD BE FINE.....

it should be okay

keyboards are usually extremely extremely hard to break, they're very resistant to spills

just remove the batteries and clean it out or it will get sticky keys

If you do get sticky keys, go buy yourself some non-conductive, no-residue contact cleaner, pop the keycaps off of the sticky keys and spray away (tap on the key while spraying).
Non-conductive contact cleaner can be sprayed on anything, even if the power is on.
The spray can I have here at work is Slide Veri-kleen. I mostly use it to clean floppy drives, but I have used it to good effect on the occasional sticky key.

He will need to take it apart ASAP make live a hell load easier before that crap drys. My friend did it with pepsi and thought he could let it dry out and it dissolved parts of the keyboard in side. I guess he was not thinking i dunno but all that acid :P.

Sticky keys just turn them off lol...

Yeah Pepsi or Coke make a mess of a keyboard. He may have to do a bit of cleaning if she had sugar in the coffee.

Although, just water should work fine if he got it rinsed out before the coffee dried.

I used my pressure washer on keyboards twice. The first time I just backed off a little and blasted away. Worked well. The second time was for fun with a junk keyboard. It's amazing what happens to a keyboard when hit with a water stream at 3600psi from about one inch away.

You can also use non-abrasive hand/dish soaps on a keyboard to get off the grime. You just have to rinse it A LOT so the soap does not leave a residue.
It is not a wise idea to spray Febreeze or any air freshener on your keyboard to make it smell nice.
DO NOT use finger nail polish remover on a keyboard or anything else you want to clean other than your fingernails.
If you are getting a new keyboard, a fun way to disinfect the old one is with gasoline and an ignition source. Stand back when you light it.
If you own a .22, keyboards make fun targets, but leave lots of little parts that you have to clean up.

You should let it dry and then using a flathead screwdriver pop the keys out(can be done on g11) and use a damp cloth to clean it you can also take the dust out too this way.
