Ya...I'm all about matching the GPU with chipset manufacturer so I understand. Then again, being an ATI fanboy and anti-corporation sellouts I'd never put myself in a position where I'm forced to run Nvidia/intel.

Well until I buy the 295, a 3850 is gonna sit there as a "bridge card". So there

NVIDIA, ATI pissed me off when they switched over to the Catalyst Control Center making me download a 50 some MiB file when all I wanted was the drivers. That was about three years ago and I purchased a 8800GT and 8500GT in that period. My next card is likely to be an AMD product because I don't like NVIDIA's business practices of placing so much emphasis on physics, GPGPU (specifically designing their graphics cards for better performance on F@H when I buy graphics cards for games), and their recent model numbering mess. I don't reward idiots.

Nice!! Advanced welcome back to the smart ATI/AMD world where money is not the driving factor. And now, you can get just the drivers with ATI!

Nvidia, trying to get a better card tho, this 8600 GTS doesn't do much for me gaming wise.

Ati's cards are nice, but i feel much better use my Nvidia chipset board with Nvidia cards and drivers.

I don't really care about the GPGPU stuff, but if the graphics card does that kind of thing extremely well, why not? There are people who buy GCs specifically for GPGPU applications, so why not cater to them also?

As for physics, I am all for that. I just wish there was some kind of standardization so that physics ran on both camps' cards.
