I hope, never tried the first one and a demo would be nice to try for the second.

Heli's, hummers and tanks look like crap even when the details are maxed out. Every thing look wise is good for me. Although had to stop playing it as moving is hurting my eye's. I'm thinking it's with using a large display. The benchmark suck but i expected that though.. Overall i enjoy playing Arma 1 more. Think i'll wait till some mods are out. Like i have always said it's a love or hate game. |

OK, I can't play this until I disable the blur. Everytime I turn everything is completely blurred. How do you do this?

Ok, done but I have to admit I am not enjoying this. Arma II is basically designed for those that know and understand Arma I. The whole control mechanism from ordering your squad to picking up stuff isn't intuitive IMO. The way points are confusing to say the least as it really don't direct you to any particular objective. The movement of your character gives me the impression that it was made with TrackIR in mind. The missions aren't really explained in detail and the time frame involved in this game before you actually do something is a tad to long for my taste. If we are seeing large scale maps like this it's time to figure out how to create large scale battles IMO. Perhaps this is were OpenCL comes into play.

Did you try the benchmark? The game should run decently at 30 FPS or better.

That's odd I'm not getting that at 1680 with all settings on High. Did you download and install the latest directx? I recall being told to do that.

Lower the resolution then. Just so you know, everyone is having problems with performance at high resolutions.

nah not rediculous, just busy. Check you cpu 5load when in game. I have read some posts where people on e8400's clocked to 4.0ghz have both cores loaded to 90% in game.
If this is true, it could well benefit greatly from more cores. There is a lot going on in game, check the following vid of online coop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaAnC...eature=related Also this sp vid of heaps of ai units running around unscripted, may explain the cpu load. This guy is using an over clocked e8400 and 4870 as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KK6F...eature=related I am going to get the demo and try it out before deciding to invest in a q9550 or not. As to track ir, yes this game and its players are heavily into it, again notice it's use in the vid. Am looking forward to it but we get it some time in August here in the land of Oz. Tye
