Is this high density RAM?

There's so much of this high density (RAM which basically doesn't work with 99% of chipsets) crap on ebay, just wondered if this is one of them. Not really into the whole getting ripped off on ebay thing anymore.

The fact that it says Sold as Untested would automatically make me hit back. It's a trick a lot of people use to sell broken stuff. You could get lucky, but I wouldn't risk it.

HYN is Hynix ram maybe try there spec sheets.

This is a 32x8 chipset module which will not work with almost 90% of laptops on the market. Usually 256Mb modules are built using a 16x16 chipset or a lower density chipset which is 16x8 typically required by laptops using Pc100 modules. Run the scan my system tool with these guys at www.aememory.co.uk and let me know the laptop make and model their scanner comes up with and i can look up what you require.

I'm not saying your wrong by any means, but if you look on the ebay site Oli has linked in this thread you will see the seller has 100% positive feedback since August 2003, looks pretty reliable to me.

The memory from that seller on ebay is absolutely fine, it just wont work with your system if you require a different chipset. The seller can have %120 positive feedback as far as I'm concerned, but its your job to verify compatiblity. Without the make and model of your laptop i cant say much if that particular module will work or not.
