Lots of choices there, I have no experience with any of them. You might want to try a comparison site or try to find a magazine with LCD monitor group tests.

i was wondering what's the difference in the ratio of 100:1 and 10000:1 with the same resolution? because i'm looking to buy new monitor later this year.

Go with 176/176 view angle...you can get big one 26" some of them have like 160/160 that's shit...
View angle is the most important thing nothing else matters if you go big... |

Don't expect a LCD be spot on soon as you take it out of the box. And if i'm not mistaken 10000:1 is the brightnes and will only need one so bright if the room is really bright like if the sun catches the screen or a lght bulb(s). Tell ya the truth i've never seen a LCD that i like on default settings and are always waaay to bright at there default settings. When i got my Samsung 204B i though HOLLY CRAP i really thought bad things until i changed it to how i like it.. |

1000:1 is the contrast ratio, higher is better andbrightness is something like 300 cd/m2, which is pretty dam bright. Just go for something like 1000:1 and 250cd/m2 or greater and you're fine.

.. So yes 300 would be waay enough for his use.Well my 204b is 800:1 and 300 cd/m2 and set like 44% and 57% and the only reason i dont use it is due to using a 40" HDTV other wise i would be still. And as for the HDTV the settings are not even 1/2 way up. Can you not get to see these monitors in a shop some were as it's the best way to find out for sure. And if they complain about you touching ask them if they want to make a sale or not lol. My sammy takes 40w when on default settings and at my settings 20w. Keep away from gloss screens even more so if your close to the screen as you will see your self in it and trust me it's annoying. EDIT: And about the viewing angle it's only a issue if your not in front of the screen which i'm guessing you will be and is a weakness with my 204b.. BUT it only has that weakness due to me and my wife play games together WELL i play them she likes watching and you can tell then. |
