Well i was playing cod 4 online and while i was playing it went black screen? i was wondering if it is just a connection error or is it bad overclocked?? well it can't be unstablity overclock because i've tested it on OCCT and it showed no errors so i was thinking its connection error?

i havent ran into a black screen error before. its possible it was something up with your video cards OC, and the driver crashed?

well it wasn't really an error it just goes black screen then i lag for like 2seconds,my ping shoots up to 999 then it goes back to normal to like 60-90ping but then its fine after.it only happens sometimes and my overclock is stable i think i did a stress test

that sounds about right for a driver crash tho. crashes out, few seconds later the GPU recovers.

You gotta remember that a stress test for your CPU doesnt mean much for your video card, and video card synthetic tests always lean towards one aspect of the video card at the neglection of another (EG, focuses on shaders, ignoring ram)

black screens, maybe. blue screens? no, that would be your PC crashing. If the game bluescreened as a matter of course, i'm sure there'd be a lot more people complaining about it.

is yours a gen 1 9600GT. These, mine included, had problems with black screening in COD4, shader intensive issues. If this is the cause it is hardware related.

mine does blackscreen most of my games if it's OC'ed to high. I have the 1st version of 9600GT which had a blackscreen problem but mine is fine if it's at factory clock speed tho when OC'ed too much it will start blackscreening.

did you turn on V-sync? turning V-sync off jumps my FPS over 60-100 FPS.
lucky bastard you got a nice OC'er 9600GT mine only goes 700MHz on core with stock voltage and thats the stock clock for my card which is 700/1625/950x2.
