Loaner laptop and FREE Office 2010

https://connect.microsoft.com/officecustomerstories

I wasnt sure where to post this. Here or the software forums.
Anyway, I found this on another site. If you sign up in the link above you get a loaner laptop to use for a while that has office 2010 on it. If you complete the whole thing you get a Office 2010 for free when it comes out.

Interesting?

6 month commitment of daily use and be filmed for some MS advertising campaign?
Then give the laptop back?

I'll pass.

Give laptop back? Why do they give you that loaner in the first place then and not just an ISO like they did with Win7...? You would have to reoganize everything to that lappy, and when you have to give it back move everything off... just seems inconvenient.

Probably because they are going to load it with software that "phones home" regularly to see what you are doing with WO 2010.

I would probably consider it if I got to keep the laptop, but 6 months of use and attend online trainings and be involved in other social stuff is a lot just to get a free copy of Office.

Well guru3d (where I found the link) seems to think there is a possibility to keep the laptop maybe depending on what microsoft thinks.

Yea, what the hell, I signed up

Might be kind of cool. Hell, I could use it in my college classes, as they support Microsoft Office 2007. I would imagine that it will be able to save documents in earlier versions, much like Office 2007 can.

Thanks for the link ShogoXT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stopped doing the hardware/OS/Software reviews 3 years ago... Its pretty bad when you have to give the laptop back after all those months... but my guess is its just to keep the lazy ones out of the program and the serious ones will actually put the effort in and do a good job and get to keep the laptop?
