System Specs

Rendering issue.

I have a friend of mine thats into HD movie editing. He just built a new system and has had nothing but issues rendering. He tells me one core only runs at 36% while the others stay at 0% and the videos shudder. My best guess is the applications are not multi-threaded but I honestly have no idea. But then again these are newer applications.

Here are his specs.

CPU: AMD 940 (Stock)
RAM: 4GB of Kingston HyperX (Stock)
Mobo: Asus M4A79 Deluxe (Stock)
GPU: Sapphire 4850 1GB (Stock)

The applications he is using are the following.

Adobe After Effects CS4
Sony Vegas 8.0

Source file codec?
Output file codec?

Also, AE CS4 has several performance options that by default are conservatively set, for those with lesser machines. Changing them may allow AE to make better use of the machine.

I've never used Vegas...
