It is estimated to be delivered on the 14th
![]() Now, depending on how much money I have after everything's said and done (I plan on selling WAW, the $20 rebate, and I might get $20 from somewhere else, and a gpu I'm going to sell) I migt get a 7750BE or something along that price |

Just ordered a 7750BE to go with it. I think that should hold for a few years... heh

Your ditching the Semprong...NOT THE SEMPRON...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
But seriously, why not save up the extra $20 and go with the X2 250?

Because to me, the x2 250 offers nothing that the 7750BE doesn't already have.
I'll have a nice little F/S thread going in a week or so... I want to sell a 6800XT agp, this sempron after I replace it with the 7750, and a game.. check out my system specs... lol (notice the name) Last edited by hat; Jul 12, 2009 at 03:09 PM. |

I'm sure it does. Maybe by a few FPS in gaming. The 7750 will probably hit 3GHz on stock voltage which will be more than fast enough... my current sempron would be if it wasn't single core

And the Athlon will probly hit 3.4 on stock maybe more? Yeah a few more FPS in gaming and a lot faster and everything else besides gaming. I am just saying, it is more future proof too since it is AM3, it runs faster, and it runs cooler.. Oh well.

Yeah I forgot about that... I don't have an AM3 board. I know AM2+ is supposed to be compatable with AM3, but AM2+ was supposed to be compatable with AM2, and when I tried running a Phenom 9500 in an AM2 board (with phenom bios update) I had problems.

Hmm, well I have ran and know plenty of people who run AM3 cpu's on AM2+ boards. Well either way man you will be happy with your upgrade I am sure. Good luck with the build and let us know how high you can clock it

Yeah, I just wish I ordered it 2 days ago along with the 9600 :/ ah well, I will get it all in this week that's for sure. I don't really plan on taking it past 3... I had a terrible experiance with a Phenom 9500 with this same motherboard (not same exact board, same model). 1.375v fried the board, cpu and my 9800gt, so I'm weary of pushing it too hard. It says voltage 1.05v-1.325v... last time I ordered a processor with a voltage range I got lucky and got the lowest voltage. I'll be estatic if I get a 1.05v model... that's damn low even for deliberate undervolting

The cooler died on the card long before the card died with the motherboard. I'm going to take the vf900 off of this card and put stock cooling back on it, and put the vf900 on the 9600gso.

The problem is that the boards should be compatible, however it is up to the manufacturers to adds in support for the new processors. Many board manufacturers were/are lazy and really only add marginal support for newer processors. Plus, the AM2 boards had problems with the Phenoms due to their power requirements.

The box it comes in from newegg is huge! Probably because the retail box from ASUS is large and flat, almost like a keyboard box...
