Super Talent DDR3 Memory

I've been snooping around Newegg and found that Super Talent memory is pretty cheap. I have no idea why not many people are buying them. (Based off almost 0 reviews.)

I've heard Super Talent RAM overclock really well, so what's going on? Is there a reason why they have little no to popularity around here?

Super Talent 1600 8-8-8-18 @ $93 as opposed to OCZ 1600 8-8-8-24 @ $100

Super Talent makes some great ram. In fact, the DDR2 that I had from them were some of the best I ever used, and my first set of DDR3 had some great D9 IC's. People don't talk about them much due to the lack of marketing hype, compared to other major brands. You should check out ewiz.com for Super Talent ram too. Great prices.

I was just browsing the Super Talent 3x2GB 1600MHz 8-8-8-18 memory on the Egg. Its the same price as the 3x1GB Dominator 1600MHz. Seems like a no-brainer.

I'd grab it over any other memory but I'm just a little unsure of the heatsinks. Are they considered tall for coolers like the TRUE/Megahalems w/ 2 fans?

I think what scav is saying is that 6GB over the 3GB Dominators is a no brainer.

For some reason there is something holding be back from getting the Super Talent 3x2GB kit over the Dominator 3x1GB kit. Maybe its because the word dominator sounds cool?! Damn marketing!

I think I am going to go ahead and order the Super Talents. I'll try something a little different than everyone else

At ewiz, when looking at Super Talent ram, it will say Micron if they are micron chips. If not, the are Elpida chips.

Super Talent doesn't market their products well, but they sell good stuff. Their 2x1GB DDR2 800 kit I had was the best set of RAM I've ever bought. Stock CL 4-4-3-8 @ 800MHz (1.8 Volts), and it would overclock to 1150MHz stable with CL 5-5-5-18 (2.1 volts).

btw, Newegg has the same kit I bought for under $30 now. I paid over $200 when they first came out.
