That's perfectly normal with the stock cooler.

Aye, well first thing to try is taking it off, reapply thermal paste and put it back on / Test the temps again.

So where did the 1.216v in the screenshot come from? thats higher than normal and could cause some higher than normal temps.

my guess is that it will be about the same with the V8 re-installed....these CPU's run hot...And 61 is pretty okay for WPrimeBench...that and Fritz Chess Benchmark cause more heat than any normal game or application will...SO yes you get to 61 but I bet you will not find a game that will do that to your CPU.

Those temps are fine. Take it from a guy with 2 DO's. This is exactly why these chips beg for water cooling.

What case is this in?

Look normal to me. I run 40-38 idle and 50s loaded at stock speeds with same board and Vendetta 2. I think my HAF is helping me a lot as its like a open bench with an almost invisible wall around everything.

Have you visited the i7 overclocking thread? Edit: I see you have. Temps are a very 'hot' topic over there, so much that an i7 WaterCooling thread had to be started.

I'm running mine at 1.3V for 3.4Ghz and my load temps are mid 70's under water cooling. So yeah they run hot my man.

There isn't much difference between 85c and 82c is all. That's about how much difference you'll see by switching coolers. Core i7's are hot, you don't have any temperature problems.

Are you on Air or Water? If you're on water you can drop yours down to 1.25 or even 1.22 and be fine right? Mine is running @1.25 with 3.6Ghz.

Getting a True will definitely help, and you can even put 2 good fans, but then what would you do to the V8?

Another thing when i said mine is 35ish idleing its because over here is winter temps are 15Cish what are your ambient temp?

And come on, its on water and not 4.0, shame! hehe

1.2v here at 3.8GHz...
The i7s dont really like too much voltage.

That aside what is your room temperature ? Plus those 3 XFX GTX260s already produce too much heat, so my guess is that your temps are normal, especially for the summer.
