is there a noticable difference in download speed
is there a noticable difference in download speed between a wireless desktop card with 125MB/s than one with 54MB/s and will a 125MB/s wireless card be able to operate that fast if u have a 54MB/s router?

there is no differnece unless lan speed is a factor honestly youl never see any download using up the 54mb/s speed of a g card now lan on the other hand you will notice it to be slow also signal plays a factor and most of the cards that advertize faster speeds then 54mb/s are only supported at those speeds by special wireless routers usualy of the same brand as the adapter just get a cheap 54g adapter it will work fine

if anything it will slow down your performance in games (because 125mb/s requires compression, and that takes processing power)
