this is on windows 10 sorry for not specifying earlier.W10 or W11 as I cannot find thids option in W11 pro desktop.
And it is indeed a laptop item as a desktop does not have a battery.
Please fill out your system specs.
thanks for this info, very useful to know i was confused about this amd power slider because it sounded like a laptop feature more than desktop. It changes your minimum CPU clock and the sensitivity with which it reacts to loads.
Battery saver will make your clocks more relaxed, and background applications won't result in massive boost spikes.
Best performance will make your CPU react with high boost clocks even to light background apps, raising responsiveness slightly. It also raises your idle clock, and idle power consumption.
Personally, I have it on battery saver as there's no difference in a proper load (such as a game), but I consider idle power consumption important. But it's really up to you.

Exactly.thanks for this info, very useful to know i was confused about this amd power slider because it sounded like a laptop feature more than desktop.
so if i set it to "battery saver" when im on load it will perform just as "best performance"? while on idle will consume less power and less spikes as well?
Sounds like a win to me tbh, specially seeing how this processor seems to spike a lot for no reason, I know it's a Ryzen thing but sometimes it's just too annoying specially with fans going nutsExactly.
I'm not saying which one is better. It's really up to your preference.
