    e-SATA!

Could this be the typical Dell technique where the price stipulates "Starting at..." then you have to add the drives and connection options and service plan and accessories and...
    It ends up $600...:wtf:

The enclosure is USB and eSATA. I would guess the drives inside(2 750GB?) are SATA.

No, I think it comes with the drives, it doesn't give you any options to add them. You just add it to the cart and it is there, and the manufacture part number checks out to be the enclosure and the drives.

simple deduction. the site doesnt mention the specs of the HDDs. if they were included it would be directly mentioned. this is just a sales tactic. look on newegg at the cheapest external usb HDD over 1 TB

It does list the drive specs. It list the spindle speed as 7200RPM, and the form factor as 3.5".

Also if you look up the manufacture part number, this comes with the drives.

FP-UFE2/1.5TB is the part number for the enclosure with 1.5TB of hard drive space included. FP-UFE2/1.0TB is for 1TB of hard drive space, and FP-UFE2 is the part number for just the enclosure.

I just ordered one via paypal, if it doesn't come with the drives I'll return it and file a claim with paypal.

well good luck, but i highly doubt you will get the drives. did you see the cheapest 1.5 tb usb/esata external hdd on newegg? 450 bucks. the decription on the dell site just states how fast the drives can be and what form factor they have to be. when something looks to good to be true it usually is. they would be selling just the drives at a huge price loss.

Simpletech also doesn't sell this enclosure by itself. It only sells it in 1TB 1.5TB and 2TB models WITH the drives. Like I said, the manufacture's part number is for the enclosure with 1.5TB of hard drives in it. It is probably a typo on the price, but that is Dell's problem. The worst that happens is they realize it and cancel the orders.

lets say this.. you buy it.... and its shipped.. if they give you trouble its this... its false advertisement. And if they ask to give you more, then you throw the fact you can sue... the price is what your getting... they can't change it no matter what.. my dad saw in a best buy ad a samsung lcd 22 in for 189.. they said it was a typo and wouldnt give it to them for the price... well my mom went down with her legal experts and they gave it to them with a gift card... so buy now!

Actually Dell clearly states the policy that they are not responsible for misprices and that the price can change at any second. Read their terms of service.
