My order still says it is in production, and I've heard nothing about cancelation and no money has been refunded. Dell is certainly going to hear and air full if they do cancel my order, especially considering they have now tied up $80 of mine for half a week.

Interesting. I put in two orders for these: one with standard shipping, and one with next day delivery. My order with standard shipping got cancelled yesterday (got the email and it shows up as cancelled). However, my next day delivery item hasn't received any cancellation email.

Who knows?

All right guys, I've called Dell 3 times in the last hour, to talk to 3 different sales reps. and they all said this:
The reason people are getting e-mails and also phone calls stating that the order is canceled and then showing on the website that it isn't is for the simple fact that when a item is "back ordered" they send those e-mails and phone calls out. Its to let people know that there is a status change on the item. So, if the person that placed an order wants, they can cancel it...
I got that from 3 different people. They all said the same thing. Then when I asked them about honoring the price. All 3 said that they would. And the last one wrote down that if they didn't honor the price that there was going to be legal actions taken to them about it.. I just have to reget with the atternoys at work and get the ref. numbers for it... lol

Here is what I suggest for the people that got the e mail and or phone call... Call dell and make sure... then if they do this whole run around next week, I'm going to get someone higher then a super. and make sure they come here and tell us.

i had three reps, and a supervisor state that i was going to get it. and now canceled. if you can record it and state at the start that your recording... Im recording mine later today....

This is strange. my order shows canceled, i've called 2 times and both said the same, it was canceled for the reason of a price error, And my paypal is still pending....

When I called them and asked about everything fom credit card and paypal, they stated that it takes up to 72 hours before you ether get your money back, or the thing is canceled. So if its still like that on Saturday, I'd call back...

Perhaps they are just cancelling all the orders and will actually honor the price if you call and bitch, so it might be worth a shot, but I really don't feel like dealing with it this morning.

Paypal are retards,i've had the same thing.It takes seconds to transfer the money from your bank ac to paypal,but it takes upto 4 days to transfer from paypal to your bank ac.

Yeah, it isn't like I'm hurting for space. I was just planning on selling the drive on ebay anyway.

I feel the same as you guy on this matter. I'm the nice gentle "teddy bear" type person, but after the people and all this.... Even I have to draw the line somewhere. And that line was drawn about 3 days ago. I deal w/ all types of people because of where I work, and sometime you got to tell a patient no, means no you can't do this. Don't take my kindness for weakness.

This is why you should go for these kinds of things .

Sometimes you come out a very happy person (rare), but most times you get more of a headache than what its worth.

Anywho, GL with what happens, hope you guys get some sort of reimbursement.

Well I just got off the phone with Dell. It looks like the story they are sticking to now is that the item is out of stock, and is no longer being Manufactured. I highly doubt Simpletech stopped making them, but I'm really not in the mood for a fight, so it looks like I'll just take the $80 back and go on my way.
