So I'll be heading off to England for school and was wondering what to do about these electronics that I have, all of which have cables/plugs/adapters made for 120V.
I know that my SG08 rig has no problems with 230V, since the XFX TS550 is not a $20 eBay power supply. However, where am I supposed to look for a 230V wall to IEC 320 C13 plug cable that's not a sketchy website? I just don't know where to look. I live in Canada and it's a bit difficult for me to buy stuff from US websites, taking into account customs and the exchange rate.
As for my Macbook, the power brick appears to be comfortable with 100-240V, but obviously the plugs are not compatible. Do I just buy a simple travel plug adapter? Are the cheap ones dangerous? If anyone has suggestions for ones that are known to work, I'm all ears. I think my Nexus 5 can just deal with a third party charging hub like this, which can also accommodate my iPad if need be http://goo.gl/FCnpni
So my list is, right now,
1) A 230V power cord for the TS550. I'm not too familiar with gauges so if someone can help educate me or point me towards a good guide, that would be incredibly helpful. I'd need a cord thick enough not to burn up while I'm using my PC, obviously.
2) Some no-frills plug adapter so I can charge my laptop, unless those things are dangerous.
3) Some 230V ==> USB port hub for charging phone.
Please do chip in with your thoughts / advice.
