been offered 2x4GB of DDR3, and considering running asymmetrical dual channel with 2x2GB of my current ram.

been a while since i benchmarked ram and dont want to use old software that doesnt really account for such large amounts of RAM, so what should i use to benchmark between the 4x4 and 2x2+2x4 setups?

yeah i tested it, no-go on mixing.

1.5v + 1.65v meant neither ram kit was happy no matter what i did, so they cant be mixed - so its a no deal. i'd rather my 1600 7-7-7-20 8GB than 12GB of 1333 9-9-9-24 (at a cost of about $100)
